Name board specifications (email to sally)

230gsm satin
Full colour
420mm wide x 148.5 mm high
x 20 copies (should all the other MA students get their work to me by the deadline of course!)

If these were all to be mounted on foam board or equivalent if you have alternative materials for mounting, how would this effect the cost? Could you give me a quote if you are able to do this?

Also, I would be needing to supply the work to you on Monday 18th April. Could you let me know what the turn around time for this job would be?

Many thanks in advance,
Rachel.

Diary of a Somebody - TASKS

Check list for today:

1. Email FT reps about studio access on tuesday 12th (meeting) and tuesday 3rd (exhibition set up day)
*check*

2. Email PTY2 reminder about meeting this week and key points to discuss
*check*

3. Email Sally at Printroom about quotes and turnaround time for name board printing
*check*

4. Collate and print emails from 2010 research trip to Cosmic Sensation and any other significant events, ready for diary extract planning to include and colour code on exhibition display piece (tutorial tonight with dazz)

5. Photography of artifact build and current testing phases
*tube test (liquid flow in different tube sizes, air pockets)
*bung / stopper (synthetic corks, trimmed to fit the end of tube. Finish with wax seal?
*liquid density test (immiscible liquids of key colours - black, red, purple, white - need to test different liquid types in sunflower oil. Test alcohol? coloured ink? chemicals / cleaning fluids? Milk = not ideal due to being a food type, will perish / sour / change colour when deteriorates)
*wire shaping (used a pint glass for shaping the wire in to sine waveform - any other shaping tools?)
*wire blackening - while not adding to wire thickness therefore effecting flow of extract counters
(original idea black enamel paint coat. When testing the build phase yesterday, Adrian suggested the idea of coating wire by burning in a candle flame - then spray with hairspray to fix soot, otherwise counters rub off soot as they flow across wire. Idea tested and successful, counters still flow across wire)

6. Tutorial tonight
(plan the display build and check I have all the materials needed, prepare for meeting tomorrow, write a list of key discussion points, pack last meetings notes and don't forget carpet tape)

7. Don't die of stress

Diary of a Somebody - display plans

Oddly successful study night and tutorial with Dazz on tuesday (5th April)
5 pages of ideas and different plans written up.
Have now decided on the final idea for my A2 display, drawn up plans, got a materials list and have also had very positive feedback on how the display communicates my project and journal in a clear yet also unique and interactive way. Reflecting the theme of my project and my timeline, as well as fulfilling all the requirements of the brief.

Very pleased so far.

Plan to get materials and start the build phase this weekend. (10th April)
Plan to finish the build phase and final product by next weekend (17th April)
Feedback and reflection (18th - 19th April)
